Details
Petronas via its subsidiary, Petronas Carigali Canada Ltd.,
has reach an agreement to acquire
Progress Energy Resources Corporation (Progress),
a Canadian exploration and production company
focused on natural gas development in Canada,
Value : CAD $ 5.5 billion
Objectives :
The proposed acquistion builds on the previous arrangement
between the two parties
1. To develop a portion of Progress' shale assets as well as on intention
2. To pursue the development of and integrated liquefied natural gas (LNG)
export facility in Western Canada
