Marking a new milestone in the system implementation
and infrastructure installation of
electric vehicle charger to generate clean, safe
and eco-friendly energy source for all Thai consumers

Minister of Energy, presided over a MOU signing ceremony
on promoting EV supporting system
between PTT Public Company Limited and
6 leading automobile companies namely
* BMW Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd.,
* Mercedes-Benz (Thailand) Co., Ltd.,
* Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd.,
* Nissan Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd.,
* Porsche Thailand, AAS Auto Service Co., Ltd., and
* Volvo Car (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
along with Mr. Tevin Vongvanich,
President and Chief Executive Officer,
PTT Public Company Limited.

“This collaboration on EV Station model between PTT
and leading automobile companies fits Thailand
Integrated Energy Blueprint envisioned by
Energy Ministry to promote electric vehicle usage
in the country up to 1.2 million units by 2036
which help reducing energy intensity
by 30 percent in 2036 compared to 2010
according to the energy conservation plan.
The government has promoted the adoption of EV
by giving incentives for car manufacturers
such as income tax benefits, tax concessions
or exemption on importing car model
to be produced, and tax concessions or exemption
from importing components
which cannot be produced in the country.”

“PTT as state agency, we share the same vision
as the government policy on EV.
PTT has started to conduct an R&D Project
on electric vehicle since 2012 in respond to
the surge in demand of electric vehicle
in the coming year. Presently,
PTT already has 4 compatible EV charging stations,
which use the IEC and CHAdeMO standard,
at PTT Head Office Service Station,
PTT Research and Technology Institute
in Wang Noi, Ayutthaya,
PTT Service Station at Laem Chabang
in Chonburi (outbound),
PTT Service Station on Chaiyapruek Road, Nonthaburi
and plans to expand its network to 2 stations more
by the end of this year and
total of 20 locations by 2017.
This collaboration is the joint development of
PTT EV Station to anticipate
the research and development on electric vehicle market;
herewith PTT will support installation of
electric vehicle charging stations
in line with PTT business plan and
6 primary automakers will lead the way
in developing electric models according to
company’s business plan in order to
raise public awareness and consumer confidence
for the future of electric vehicle adoption.”
It is a commitment to research and develop
alternative energy source to keep up with
the rapidly changing world to ensure
national energy security of sufficient supplies,
continuous availability, and affordable price
toward sustainability.
